Friends, desperate times call for desperate measures. When I'm craving a tequila cocktail but have no limes for a Margarita recipe, and all I find are my kid's juice boxes in the fridge, I get creative.

That's exactly where I found myself this past weekend; staring at a kid's apple juice and tequila. An unlikely combo but a sweet cocktail that tastes delicious.

I love cocktails that are made with what the name says: tequila and apple juice! Making it an easy recipe that's sweet to sip on. All you need is:

• Tequila: one of the main stars of this recipe, use your favorite brand of Blanco or Silver, just don't use the cheap stuff.
• Apple juice: freshly juiced or bottled, gives this cocktail its delicious sweet flavor.
• Garnishes: apple slices to place in the drink, and sugar for rimming the glass.

What Type of Apple Juice is Best for Cocktails

You can use both filtered (clear) or unfiltered apple juice for this cocktail recipe; the difference is that the filtered will give this drink a crisp and clean look, and the unfiltered is thicker, similar to apple cider. Of course, if all you have are kid apple juice boxes on hand, those will work too!
