This reposado margarita recipe will level up your next cocktail.

Margarita with Reposado
When I want a smoother, slightly richer drink, I reach for my reposado tequila. This recipe has the ratios of my authentic margarita, which, in my opinion, gets it just right.
It's not quite as strong as the Cadillac margarita, but it has all the notes of a top-shelf drink. Some people wind down with a glass of wine; I do it with a reposado margarita.
The Perfect Ratio with Reposado
Reposado tequila has a softer, slightly oaky finish that works well with citrus, so I keep it simple with a recipe I picked up years ago at the world-famous Cantina Tío Pepe in Mexico City-equal parts tequila and Cointreau, with a little less fresh lime juice. No sweet mixers needed. This 1:1 ratio lets the tequila shine while still giving you a balanced, super drinkable marg.
How to Make a Reposado Margarita
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and the rest of your ingredients. You can add simple syrup to sweeten it, but you probably won't miss it. Give it a powerful shake for about 30 seconds or until the sides are ice-cold. I recommend pouring the ice from the shaker directly into the glass when using reposado tequila, then adding a little fresh ice to top it off.

What to Serve With It
I've been pairing this cocktail with grilled fish tacos and steak tacos with chimichurri, and tbh, it's kind of addictive. Because the reposado has that mellow depth, anything charred off the grill always hits that just-right note!
