With this recipe, you can mix up the perfect batch of margaritas in a pitcher ahead of time, so you can sip with your friends instead of mixing one cocktail at a time.

Pitcher Margaritas for a Crowd
I love a good classic margarita, but when I have a house full of friends, shaking one at a time is the last thing I want to do. This pitcher margarita recipe? It's quick to mix and keep in the fridge, so I can simply pour, sip, and mingle.
It has the same bold, citrus-infused, crisp flavor I love, just scaled up for a crowd, as it serves 8. If we need another round, I often grab the blender and make the frozen margarita version.

Pitcher Margarita Ratios
When it comes to making margaritas for a crowd, I keep it simple with a 1:1 tequila and Cointreau (triple sec) ratio (1 ½ cups each), slightly less lime juice (1 ¼ cups), and a 1:4 simple syrup to total alcohol ratio (¾ cup).

How to Make a Pitcher of Margaritas
Mix all the ingredients in a pitcher and chill it in the fridge for at least an hour: tequila, Cointreau or triple sec, fresh lime juice, and simple syrup. Then, rim the glasses with salt (or not), fill with ice, and pour. A lime wedge keeps it classic and adds an extra zing.
How Long Will a Pitcher of Margaritas Last?
You can make this pitcher margarita ahead of time or on the day of. Either way, it stays fresh in the fridge for up to three days. Just keep it cold, give it a quick stir, and add ice when you're ready to serve and pour away.
What to Serve With a Margarita Pitcher
Margaritas always open up the appetite, which means grab some chips, make some quick blender salsa, and maybe some spicy guacamole. Need more food? Try these easy baked tacos or carne asada tacos, both of which feed plenty.
More Pitcher Cocktails
Other party-sized margs you can make ahead include blue Hawaiian Margaritas, Lemon-lime Margaritas, and a blueberry lime Margarita. You can always make a few and have options!
