Keep the party going with this skinny Christmas Margarita recipe. Make one glass or a full pitcher to enjoy with a crowd.

At 148 calories, this skinny Christmas Margarita is a light and refreshing cocktail that goes down easy and is a big crowd-pleaser.

Low-Calorie Christmas Margarita

Every Christmas, both sides of the family gather at my house, and while classic Margaritas and skinny Margarita recipes are usually on the menu, I'm shaking things up this year with this skinny Christmas Margarita.

It has only 148 calories, 128 fewer than a traditional Margarita. It's perfect for prepping ahead of time and serving by the pitcher to keep the refills flowing!

Ingredients

To make this cocktail, you need cranberry juice (be sure to use juice and not bottled concentrate), tequila, triple sec or Cointreau, regular or light orange juice, and sparkling water or Topo Chico for a fizzy finishing touch.

How to Make a Skinny Christmas Margarita

  1. Prep the glass if a sugared rim is your jam.
  2. Shake the ingredients in the cocktail shaker, making sure to leave out the sparkling water.
  3. Add the sparkling water and garnish with orange slices, cinnamon sticks, and rosemary sprigs, or shake things up by adding star anise, edible flowers, dried orange slices, and candy canes!

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces cranberry juice
  • 1 ounce tequila
  • ½ ounce triple sec or Cointreau
  • 1 ounce orange juice
  • Sparkling water or Topo Chico, for topping off
  • Sugar or Truvia, for rimming
  • Garnishes: cranberries, orange slices, rosemary sprigs, cinnamon sticks

Instructions

Prep:

  • If you enjoy a rimmed glass, prep the rim by rubbing an orange or lime wedge along the rim. Pour sugar or Truvia (for fewer calories) onto a plate or salt rimmer. Dip the glass in the sugar and set aside.

Make the marg:

  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the cranberry juice, tequila, triple sec or Cointreau, and orange juice to the shaker. Shake vigorously until the sides are fully frosted.

Serve:

  • Fill a lowball glass with ice. Strain the margarita into the glass and top with sparkling water or Topoco chico.
  • Garnish with an orange slice and enjoy.

Notes

Make it a pitcher, yielding 8 servings, by adding 2 cups of cranberry juice, 1 cup of tequila, ½ cup Cointreau or triple sec, and ¼ cup orange juice into a pitcher. Add a handful of ice and refrigerate for 1 hour. Pour about ½ cup of the pre-mixed cocktail over ice and top with sparkling water or Topo Chico.
