When the BBQ's lit and friends start showing up, this pitcher of tequila and sweet iced tea is your no-stress move. It's fresh, simple, and dangerously drinkable.

Boozy Sweet Tea
Living in New Orleans, I've learned a few things about surviving hot, humid afternoons-and this tequila iced tea is exactly what I want to sip when the patio is full and the grill is on.
This pitcher cocktail is simple, refreshing, and just strong enough to keep the good times going. It serves a crowd, so you don't have to mix up your tequila and tea one by one.
Making a Pitcher of Tea and Tequila
2-ingredient tequila cocktails like this one are the easiest summer cocktails-just pour and stir. Here's how to make the best sweet tea & tequila pitcher with a few additional tips to ensure the best sip:
- Make the cocktail
In a large pitcher, stir together 2 cups of Blanco or Silver tequila and 8 cups of sweet tea. If you're using unsweetened tea, add up to 1 cup of simple syrup (or honey) to taste. - Chill
Add a handful of ice, stir and store the pitcher in the fridge for about an hour. This gives it time to chill and lets the flavors blend. - Garnish & Serve
When it's time to serve, pour the cocktail into ice-filled glasses and garnish with a lime wedge, lemon wheel, a few mint leaves or any fruit you have on hand. Sip and relax!
How to Garnish Tea & Tequila
What's great is that you mix the tequila + iced tea and then use any fresh fruit you have on hand to garnish it so each glass tastes fruity and totally refreshing.
What to Serve With It
Once the guests show up, pass around these perfectly grilled kebabs, juicy chicken thigh tacos, or grilled fish tacos and top it all off with my pineapple salsa. Mix up a batch of peach & tequila lemonade or a Paloma pitcher to keep the drinks (and the party) flowing.
