This summer tequila punch brings big vacation energy in one easy pitcher.

Made with a refreshing combo of OJ and pineapple juice, sprite and a touch of grenadine, this summer tequila punch cocktail is bright, boozy and absolutely made to share.

Summer Punch Cocktail

The plan was a round of Tequila Sunrises with my besties, but after manning the grill and dragging the dog out of the kiddie pool-again-I knew I had to pivot. I was hot, tired, and had pineapple juice to use up, so I stirred up a summer punch cocktail instead.

I tossed everything into a pitcher, gave it a stir, and ended up with a fruity, fizzy cocktail that's dangerously easy to pour again… and again.

Best Juices to Use in Punch

OJ and pineapple juice are a classic combo for a reason. Pineapple gives the tropical flavor, OJ cuts the sweetness, and together they add just the right amount of citrus to complement the tequila. This mix also gives this punch its signature golden color.

Making Summer Tequila Punch Pitcher

Pour the juices, tequila, and Sprite into a pitcher and chill for about an hour if it isn't already cold, or add a handful of ice so you can start sipping immediately. To serve, first drizzle a little grenadine into the bottom of a tall glass for that layered, sunset effect. Garnish with orange slices and maraschino cherries and boom: picture-perfect cocktail.

And if you're serving a crowd? Double the amount and turn it into a punch bowl. Add the grenadine straight to the bowl and give it a gentle stir to spread it around.

More Pitcher Cocktails for Summer

When friends drop in and it's too hot to think, I go straight to a Tequila Sunrise pitcher for a similar tropical feel, a boozy tequila lemonade pitcher, or pitcher of margaritas-regular or my lighter skinny version. It's backyard triage, tequila-style!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups pineapple juice
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • 1 ½ cups tequila
  • 16 ounces of Sprite
  • Grenadine, for serving
  • Garnish: orange slices, maraschino cherries

Instructions

Make the punch:

  • In a pitcher, combine pineapple juice, orange juice, tequila, and Sprite. Add a handful of ice and refrigerate for 1 hour to chill. You can skip this if everything is already cold.

Serve:

  • Measure ½ ounce of grenadine and add it to the bottom of a tall glass. Fill with crushed ice.
  • Pour the tequila punch cocktail into the glass and garnish with orange slices and maraschino cherries.

Notes

Turn this into a punch bowl, serves 12, by doubling up the amounts. To avoid measuring the grenadine as you fill the punch cups, add ⅓ cup of grenadine to the bowl and mix.
