Watch how quickly this pitcher recipe for a tequila sunrise will steal the spotlight at your next gathering with its refreshing summertime flavors.

Tequila Sunrise for a Crowd
When it comes to summertime in South Louisiana, the heat is no joke! After a long week of being drained by the heat, my favorite way to cool off with friends is sipping tequila cocktails by the pool.
My tequila sunrise recipe became such a hit at one of my recent get-togethers that I knew I needed to share the recipe for a pitcher that's perfect for a crowd. Need a lighter option? Try my famous Skinny Tequila Sunrise instead!
What You Need
You'll find the amounts to this Tequila Sunrise Pitcher in the recipe card below; but before you make any swaps, check out why each ingredient is needed:
- Tequila: use your favorite brand of blanco or silver.
- Orange juice: store-bought or freshly squeezed, you decide.
- Grenadine syrup: makes the red layer for the sunset effect.
- Maraschino cherry: for garnish.
- Orange slices: for extra garnish.
How to Make a Tequila Sunrise Pitcher
The detailed steps for making this Tequila Sunrise Pitcher are written in detail in the recipe card; here are some additional tips in each to ensure the best drink:
- Fill the pitcher
To a pitcher filled with ice, pour in liquid ingredients. With a cocktail spoon give the mixture a good stir & place in refrigerator to chill. - Prep the glass
Add a handful of ice to glass and pour mixture making sure to leave room at the top for the red layer. - Top the drink
Add Grenadine to the top of the drink, making sure to pour slowly. This ensures it will sink to the bottom of the glass to create the colorful sunrise layers. - Garnish
Add a orange slice and few cherries into your cocktail and enjoy.

Make-Ahead Tequila Sunrise Pitcher
What I love about Pitcher recipes is that they can easily be made ahead of time and chill in the fridge for up to 2 days.
To prevent the tequila sunrise in the pitcher from getting watered down, wait to add ice when you're ready to serve it. Then, give everything a good stir to mix the ingredients and pour it over ice.
