This frozen tequila sunrise is sweet, citrusy, and ridiculously pretty—basically, a vacation in slushy form.

Sip your worries away this summer with this frozen tequila sunrise. It's vibrant, fruity, and dangerously smooth. It tastes like sunshine and sips like a beach day-no passport required.

Blended Tequila Sunrise

The first time I made a frozen tequila sunrise, it was 95 degrees, the patio was melting, and I was completely out of regular OJ, which is what I use to make my classic tequila sunrise.

But I did have orange juice concentrate, which I blended with tequila, ice, and added a dreamy sweet drizzle of grenadine, making it a total hot-day game changer.

How to Make It

This is one summer cocktail that looks like a total showoff but is so easy and fool-proof! Here's how to get that perfect sip:

  1. Blend
Add the tequila, frozen orange juice concentrate, and crushed ice to your blender. Blend until it's thick and smooth, like a boozy slushie.
  2. Add grenadine
Pour a little grenadine (about ½ ounce) into the bottom of your glass. Add a third of the frozen orange mixture and stir gently so the colors begin to mix and you get that gorgeous slushy sunrise effect. Then fill it nearly to the top.
  3. Garnish
Add a slice of orange and a maraschino cherry for that signature sunrise look. And if you've got a cocktail umbrella in a kitchen drawer somewhere, why not pop that sucker in there too? Enjoy!

More Frozen Cocktails to Enjoy

Still got the blender out? Great! Blend up a frozen strawberry margarita or a boozy tequila lemonade next-you'll forget the heat even existed! Or bring on more of it with a frozen spicy margarita. Basically: there's a marg for every mood.

What to Serve with a Frozen Tequila Sunrise

A frozen tequila sunrise is my pick for the best brunch cocktail (sorry mimosa, I still adore you). Serve it with bacon & egg tacos or my famous fluffy pancakes. And for the best of both worlds, pancake tacos! No fork required, so you never have to put down your drink.
