Made with frozen cherries, lime juice, and tequila, this frozen cherry margarita was made for hot summer nights.

If you enjoy fruit in your frozen margs, cherries bring a whole different kind of magic. They're juicy, sweet-tart, and make this frozen cherry margarita feel like dessert and happy hour all in one.

Frozen Margarita with Frozen Cherries

The patio lights are up, I'm wearing real pants, and all that's left for girl's night is a tart, sweet frozen margarita with frozen cherries. This cocktail looks deceptively fancy, but it's ridiculously easy to blend-and easy is what I need when it's this hot outside.

It's got the same slushy texture as my frozen raspberry margarita, but with a darker, juicier flavor that feels a little more sultry. Think cherry pie with a wild side.

Can You Use Fresh Cherries

Absolutely! I recommend starting with frozen (who wants to pit all those cherries?), but also because they give you that thick, slushy texture without needing extra ice. Fresh cherries will if you have the time to remove all those seeds, you can even pop them in the freezer for a bit before blending.

Making a Frozen Cherry Margarita

Consider blending this before you get dressed for girl's night. Cherries don't care about your outfit. Exact amounts are in the recipe card below, but here are some tips to ensure the best sip:

Blend
Add tequila, Cointreau or triple sec, lime juice, simple syrup, frozen cherries (look for whole, pitted cherries in the freezer section), and ice to your blender. Blend on high until smooth. Using an insulated pitcher means you can blend ahead and socialize instead of play bartender all night.

Serve and garnish
Pour the mixture into glasses with a salt or sugar rim, if using, and garnish with a lime wedge and definitely a cherry on top! Sip and repeat!

Single-Serve Frozen Cherry Marg

Want a drink just for you? (I get it.) Cut everything down to about one-sixth of the recipe: ½ oz tequila, 1 oz Cointreau, about 1 oz lime juice, ½ cup frozen cherries, a small handful of ice and a dash of simple syrup if you like it sweet.

If it's 90+ degrees where you are too, cool down with a frozen mixed berry margarita, a sweet and frosty strawberry margarita, or bold frozen mango chili marg. Counting calories? I've got you covered with my frozen skinny marg.

Obsessing over this cherry margarita! OMG it's so tasty! Will stain anything and everything, so don't spill...but worth it for every drop of this cherry goodness.
