This frozen strawberry margarita is sweet, tart, and ice-cold-your summer go-to in one perfect blend.

Frozen Strawberry Margarita with Frozen Strawberries
It's hot, humid, and sticky here in Louisiana, and this frozen strawberry margarita is the icy, boozy answer to our inferno-like summers. Using frozen strawberries gives it a thick, smooth texture without needing any ice (aka no flavor dilution), making it feel like a boozy smoothie.
The strawberries bring all the sweetness you need, no mix required. It's one of my favorite ways to mix things up when I'm not making a classic frozen margarita or that bright, citrusy frozen paloma margarita. No matter what's in your glass, summer sipping doesn't get better than this.
Why are Frozen Margaritas Better?
Turning on the blender is the happy hour music that signals good times are coming, making frozen margaritas a great choice. Even if you're watching your calories, you can blend up a skinny version.
What You Need
You'll find the amounts for this frozen strawberry margarita in the recipe card below, but before you make any swaps, check out why each ingredient is needed:
- Blanco or Silver Tequila: use your favorite brand.
- Cointreau or Triple Sec: adds the citrus liquor element to margaritas. Know the differences.
- Lime juice: freshly squeezed is always the best.
- Simple Syrup: or honey. Optional for added sweetness.
- Strawberries: fresh or frozen, either will work fine. If you are using fresh, read the notes in the recipe on how to get the same frozen texture.

Can You Use Fresh Strawberries?
Yes, of course! While I recommend using frozen strawberries to give this frozen margarita a thick and smooth texture without using ice, you can still use fresh strawberries and add about 1 ½ cups of ice to the blender to get that thick, frozen texture you love.
How to Make a Frozen Strawberry Margarita
The detailed steps for making this cocktail are written in detail in the recipe card; here are some additional tips for eachstep to ensure the best drink:
- Blend it Up
Add the liquid ingredients first and then the frozen strawberries. Blend on high until everything is blended. - Serve
Grab four glasses and pour! If you have extra and want to save it for later, store the remaining in the freezer and enjoy it later.

Frozen Strawberry Margarita for One
Looking to make just one frozen margarita cocktail? I've got you covered. You'll need 1 ½ ounces tequila, 1 ounce triple sec, 1 ounce of lime juice, ½ ounce simple syrup, and ½ cup of frozen strawberries.
How to Serve Frozen Margaritas
Slide a frozen strawberry on a cocktail pick and act like you didn't just throw this together in five minutes. Garnish like a pro, sip like the legend you are. If you need a second drink to serve your friends, pair this with an epic Blueberry Frozen Margarita.
Grab some chips, some fresh pineapple salsa, and let the good times roll. Staying a while? Throw some chicken in the slow cooker and make tacos.
