Made with fresh blueberries, lime juice, and plenty of ice, this frozen blueberry margarita is fruit-forward, icy cold, and shockingly easy to blend.

Blueberry Frozen Margarita
It started with a leftover container of blueberries and the stubborn idea that I didn't want another classic frozen margarita. I tossed them in a blender with a generous pour of tequila, some lime, a little triple sec, and ice -and oh my word. Instant obsession.
This frozen blueberry margarita is the perfect blend of juicy, tangy, and strong. Think: peak summer vibes in a glass.
What You Need
You'll find everything you need to make a frozen margarita in the recipe card below, but here are the basics and why I'm using them:
- Tequila: use your favorite brand of Blanco or Silver.
- Cointreau or Triple Sec: The slightly bitter orange edge of Cointreau balances out the berries while Triple Sec gives you a sweeter drink. Learn the differences.
- Lime juice: Freshly squeezed is a must!
- Simple syrup: optional, but a good idea if your blueberries are on the tart side.
- Blueberries: either fresh or frozen blueberries are perfect for this margarita.
- Ice: crushed, for blending.
- Garnish: think lime wedges, fresh blueberries, or a salt or sugar rim.
How to Make a Frozen Blueberry Margarita
Let's get that blender going! Here's how to make the best frozen blueberry margarita, with a few tips to get it right every time:
- Prep the glasses
If you're doing a salt or sugar rim, get those glasses ready first so you can pour as soon as you're done blending. - Blend it Up
Blend the tequila, triple sec or Cointreau, lime juice, simple syrup (if using), blueberries, and ice on high until you get the right consistency. You're going for thick, icy, and perfect. If you're making a batch, an insulated pitcher is a great way to keep frozen cocktails icy longer. - Pour & Garnish
Pour your margarita into a glass, pop a lime wedge on the rim, and then just sip any bad day away!
What to Serve with a Frozen Margarita
