A flavor sensation like no other, this exotic frozen lychee Margarita will leave you craving another round!

Frozen Margarita with Lychee
During a trip to Miami years ago, my girlfriends and I sipped our way through the drink menu offered at the pool's cocktail bar. Each round delivered 4 new drinks to try, and to this day, I remember the taste of their frozen lychee margarita.
It was my first time trying Lychee fruit, and it was a smash hit! Other favorites we tried on that trip that I've since shared on this website include a Frozen Paloma and a Frozen Watermelon Margarita, the classic Frozen Strawberry Margarita, Raspberry Margarita, and the fun Blue Hawaiian Margarita!
Does Tequila Go with Lychee?
Absolutely! The sweet, citrusy notes of lychee combined with tequila make for a refreshing summertime duo. For this recipe, you can use fresh or frozen lychee, whatever you have around works!
What Does a Lychee Margarita Taste Like
Lychee fruit has a lightly sweet, a little floral, and slightly tropical taste. When combined with the citrus profile of a margarita, it's a deliciously refreshing drink. It's milder on the tropical profile than a pineapple Margarita but smooth like a peach Margarita.
Ingredients
The measurements for this Frozen Lychee Margarita recipe will be in the recipe card below; but before you make substitutions, here is why each ingredient is used:
- Tequila: use your favorite brand of Blanco or Silver.
- Triple sec or Cointreau: a staple citrus ingredient in all Margarita recipes.
- Lychees: usually found canned by the Asian foods or canned fruits. Lychee puree will also work, check the notes in the recipe card.
- Lime juice: freshly squeezed is always the best.
- Ice: the base to many frozen margarita recipes.
- Garnishes: Lychee fruit, lime wedges, and salt or sugar for the rim.
How to Make a Frozen Lychee Margarita
The best part of making frozen drinks is that you can make a few servings at once in a blender. Some tips relevant to this recipe include:
- Prep
Drain and reserve the sweet lychee syrup from the can in a jar. You'll use all the fruit but only some of the syrup. If you like your rims salty or sugary, prep them before pouring. - Blend it Up
The blender will do all the hard work when it comes to making this drink! - Pour
Pour the frozen cocktail into the prepared glasses and garnish!

Canned or Pureed Lychees for Margaritas
Both canned lychees and lychee puree can be used to make this frozen Margarita. The canned version is easier to find at the grocery store, while the puree is available online or in liquor stores near the cocktail mixers and syrups. Both of these are different than lychee syrup; which is used for flavoring only and contains no fruit.
What to Serve with This Frozen Cocktail
Grab some chips and make it a party by serving this frozen cocktail with my Fresh Pineapple Salsa to start or make it a tropical fiesta with these Hawaiian Pork Tacos. If you need a second cocktail to round out the night, I suggest making a pitcher of my frozen peach margarita to finish things off.
