Yes, that's right! This frozen Paloma cocktail is the perfect summer drink made with your favorite tequila and infused with a refreshing citrus flavor in every sip.

Frozen Paloma for Summer
I live right outside of New Orleans, where the summer temperatures are dreadfully hot. This makes it perfect for turning the classic Paloma into a frozen boozy drink to cool down. This frozen Paloma recipe is the perfect addition to any summer event. It will cool you and your guests off while providing a delicious blend of fruity flavors.

What You Need
You'll find the amounts to this frozen Paloma cocktail in the recipe card below; but before you make any swaps, check out why each ingredient is needed:
- Grapefruit juice: freshly squeezed is always the best, but you can also use 100% grapefruit juice from the store.
- Lime juice: you've guessed it, freshly squeezed is the best.
- Blanco or Silver Tequila: use your favorite brand.
- Cointreau or Triple Sec: adds the citrus liquor element to this margarita. Learn more about the differences between cointreau and triple sec here.
- Simple Syrup: or honey. Optional for added sweetness.
- Ice: pack on the ice, this recipe is about to get frozen.

What Type of Alcohol is in a Palmoa
Palomas are made with my favorite type of alcohol: tequila! To make this frozen cocktail recipe a little boozier, I added tequila's best friend: Cointreau. Cointreau is a French-made orange liquor made from distilling both bitter and sweet orange peels and contains 40% alcohol.
Don't have any Cointreau on hand? No worries. Another great option for this frozen Paloma recipe is classic triple sec, which is more affordable. If you're trying to figure out whether to buy Triple Sec or Cointreau, check out this post that will simplify the differences between the two and help you decided which one is best for you!
How to Make a Frozen Paloma
The detailed steps for making this cocktail are written in detail in the recipe card; here are some additional tips in each to ensure the best drink:
- Prep the fruity base
In a blender, add fresh or store-bought grapefruit juice. Make sure to buy an extra grapefruit just in case you need more juice or are feeling fancy for garnish. - Combine liquids together
Add in the alcohol and ice to the blender and blend on high until smooth. Add more ice if needed. - Serve & Garnish
Pour the blended mixture into a glass, and garnish with a slice of lime or grapefruit! For the best of both worlds, add both garnishes to the cocktail for the ultimate combination.

How to Serve a Frozen Paloma
Once your refreshing frozen Paloma is ready to be enjoyed, my favorite way to serve this cocktail is by garnishing it with a lime wedge or grapefruit. The small addition of these garnishes brings this frozen cocktail all together for the ultimate summertime drink.
Having guests over and want to make this drink a little fancier? Skewer the lime and grapefruit wedges through a cocktail pick for a fun finishing touch! If you are looking for an appetizer that will compliment this frozen paloma you have to give my fresh pineapple salsa a try! Add your favorite salty chips and get ready to experience the ultimate combination of fresh summertime flavors. Happy sipping.
