The perfect blend of sweet and spicy, this Pineapple Jalapeño Margarita adds a kick of heat in every sip, leaving you wanting more!

Jalapeno Pineapple Tequila
Tequila pairs great with fruity margaritas like this Kiwi Margarita, Orange Margarita, and Coconut Lime Margarita! While pineapple may be an expected fruity addition, who would think of pairing it with jalapeños? Me! That's who!
Every Cinco de Mayo, my girlfriends gather at my house to make epic tequila cocktails! I decided to serve my pineapple salsa and pair it with my steak tacos, topped with jalapeno slices for a kick of heat. When those epic flavors collided, I knew I had to create this tropical Pineapple Jalapeño Margarita! You can even kick up the smoky flavors and make it a Pineapple Mezcalita.
Ingredients
The amounts to this flavorful Pineapple Jalapeño Margarita are in the recipe card below, but before you make any swaps, here is why each ingredient is used:
- Jalapeño rounds: this will add the kick of heat to this drink!
- Tequila: use your favorite brand of Blanco or Silver; Reposado also works.
- Lime juice: freshly squeezed is the best.
- Cointreau or Triple Sec: adds the citrus liquor element to this Margarita.
- Fresh pineapple juice: or store-bought, makes this drink fruity and sweet!
- Simple syrup: optional for extra sweetness.
- Garnishes: Tajín (optional) for rimming, pineapple slices, and jalapeño rounds.

How to Make a Spicy Pineapple Jalapeño Margarita
The detailed steps for making this cocktail are written in the recipe card below; I have included some additional tips in each to ensure the best drink:
- Prep the glass
Tajín or salt, prep the glass first by rimming the sides so you can enjoy your Margarita right after making it. - Spice up your drink!
You'll want to give the jalapeño rounds a good smashing; you know it's ready to shake things up when you can smell the spicy aroma. - Make the cocktail
Add the other required ingredients directly to the shaker and shake everything well. It's time to enjoy when the sides are nice and frosted. - Serve & Garnish
You'll want to give your shaken mixture a double strain to remove any jalapeño pieces; skip this step if you enjoy slices in your drink. Top with pineapple slices or jalapeño rounds for an added kick of heat. Enjoy!
How Spicy Is This Pineapple Jalapeño Margarita?
This Pineapple Jalapeno Margarita is mildly spicy; that being said, you can make this cocktail as spicy or as light as you wish by leaving or removing the jalapeño seeds before muddling it.
How to Garnish Margarita
To elevate this drink, I like to skewer pineapple chunks on a cocktail pick for a fancy twist, adding lime wedges for added flavor, or by rimming the glass with Tajín seasoning for a touch spice in every sip!
Can I use a Mix to make a Spicy Jalapeño Margarita?
This spicy pineapple margarita can also be made by using a ready-to-drink spicy margarita mix. You'll need to add tequila and Cointreau or triple-sec to make it great!
What Tequila is Best for a Jalapeño Margarita?
Reposado tequila is a great choice for this Spicy Margarita recipe. This tequila has been aged in oak barrels, resulting in a deliciously smooth sipping experience. If you don't have Reposado, you can also use a ready-to-go mix! Here are some of my favorites:
