Grab the recipe for this lower-calorie Skinny Strawberry Margarita for a refreshing happy hour drink without the guilt!

Skinny Margarita with Strawberries
When I'm training and tracking my calories, I'll usually sip on a Skinny Margarita. And when I'm craving my Frozen Strawberry Margarita and want something lighter, this skinny margarita with strawberries recipe is it!
This skinny version has all the refreshing citrus taste of a Classic Margarita Recipe but uses a zero-calorie sweetener instead of a simple syrup. One sip in, and I'll know you'll love it too.
Ingredients
You'll need fresh or frozen strawberries (thaw them first), granulated zero-calorie sweetener, tequila, triple sec or Cointreau (a staple citrus ingredient in all Margarita recipes), and lime juice (freshly squeezed is best). Optionally, you can add sparkling water or Topo Tico to add height to your cocktail and give it a light fizz, and salt for rimming.
How to Make a Skinny Strawberry Margarita
- Prep the glass first if you enjoy a salted rim.
- Smash the strawberries directly in the cocktail shaker with the sweetener. You'll want to release as much strawberry juice for the ultimate flavor.
- Add the remaining ingredients and shake until the sides are frosted.
- Add ice to your glass to serve it on the rocks, and then strain the skinny strawberry margarita, leaving all the pulp behind.
I like to pre-cut strawberries to add a simple yet elegant finishing touch. If you want to get even fancier, skewer a couple of small strawberries through a cocktail pick to give this drink an elevated look!
More Lower Calorie Margaritas
If tequila is your thing, enjoy these other cocktails without the guilt: Low-Calorie Margarita, a Tequila and Coke (use diet Coke or Coke Zero), Blackberry Skinny Margarita, or a Spicy Skinny Margarita for a little heat.
Skinny Strawberry Margarita (Just as Good!)

Ingredients
- 4 strawberries*, diced
- 4 teaspoons granulated zero-calorie sweetener, stevia, Truvia, Monk fruit, or Erythritol
- 3 ounces tequila
- 1 ounce triple sec or Cointreau
- 2 ounces lime juice, about 1 ½ lime
- Sparkling water (optional), to top off
- Salt, optional for rimming
Instructions
Prep:
- If you enjoy a salted glass, prep the rim of your glasses by rubbing a lime wedge along the rim. Dip in tequila salt, and set aside.
Make the marg:
- Place the diced strawberries and the stevia inside a cocktail shaker. Use a muddler to smash them until all the berries have released all their juices and it resembles a strawberry paste.
- Add the tequila, triple sec or Cointreau, lime juice, and a handful of ice. Shake vigorously until the sides are fully frosted.
Serve:
- Fill the two prepared glasses with ice. Strain the strawberry margarita through the strainer and pour it into the prepared glasses. Top off with sparkling water, to make it a taller cocktail. Garnish with a fresh strawberry and lime wedge.
Notes
- If using frozen strawberries, thaw them before using them.
