What is a Halloween Cocktail?
This Halloween cocktail is a holiday variation of my all-year-round favorite Tequila and Orange Juice recipe. I rim it with Halloween sanding sugar to make it the perfect drink for adults to enjoy this spooky season!
You can step the mix up a notch and use my Orange Margarita recipe and decorate it for Halloween. If you need a second drink for your party, try this Halloween Margarita, too!
What is the Difference Between this Halloween Cocktail and Tequila and Orange Juice?
Both cocktails contain tequila and orange juice, but the Halloween cocktail goes a step further and rims each glass with decorative Halloween Sanding sugars, plastic toy spiders, and other spooky decorations!
Ingredients
This cocktail blends tequila (blanco or silver) with orange juice (freshly squeezed is best, but bottled is also an option). You'll also need ice and Halloween-colored sanding sugars for rimming.
How to Make a Halloween Cocktail with Tequila
Follow these two steps to get into the swing of Halloween party vibes with this refreshing holiday beverage:
- Rim the glass with an orange wedge along the rim and dip it into your favorite Halloween sanding sugar. Set it aside to dry. Rimming is optional but highly recommended!
- Fill the glass with ice, orange juice, and tequila. Stir with a spoon, and garnish with a slice of orange.
The Best Kind of Tequila for This Halloween Cocktail
Like most of the cocktails on this blog, this Halloween cocktail tastes the best with Silver or Blanco tequila, both of which are affordable and easy to source. You could also use brands such as Patrón Silver, Casamigos Blanco, and Espolón Blanco.
How to Serve a Halloween Cocktail
Besides the festive rim and an orange slice, fun Halloween decorations to add to each glass include plastic spiders with a spider web drawn on using a dry or wet-erase marker.
Halloween Cocktail with Tequila
Ingredients
- 2 ounces tequila, silver or blanco
- 6 ounces orange juice, your favorite
- Halloween Sanding sugars
Instructions
- Fill a tall glass with ice. Add the tequila and orange juice, and with a spoon, stir to combine.
- Rim the glass with sanding sugars and serve.
