This tequila champagne cocktail is the perfect celebratory drink or when I'm around my friends who love to sip on something bubbly!

Can You Mix Tequila and Champagne?
Absolutely! In May, my niece asked me to make a fun and bubbly celebratory drink for her college graduation party. Sure, champagne is a classic drink to cheer with, but knowing me, I couldn't resist adding tequila.
This mix provides a bright and citrusy cocktail that delights any crowd. For a stronger drink to celebrate with, a Champagne Margarita will liven up any event, guaranteed.
What is a Mexican 75 Cocktail
A Mexican 75 is the name for a cocktail made with tequila and champagne. I love that it's made with a few simple ingredients and feels fancy to sip on. This easy tequila cocktail is the perfect blend of citrus and bubbly to ring in any celebration.
Ingredients
You'll find the amounts to this Tequila Champagne Cocktail in the recipe card below; but before you make any swaps, check out why each ingredient is needed:
- Tequila: use your favorite brand. Some of my personal favorites are blanco or silver.
- Lime juice: freshly squeezed brings out the best authentic taste.
- Simple syrup: or agave to add some sweetness to balance out the cocktail.
- Champagne: essential for adding the fizz to this cocktail, Prosecco is another great option.
How to Make a Champagne Tequila
The detailed steps for making this Mexican 75 cocktail are written in detail in the recipe card; here are some additional tips in each to ensure the best drink:
- Shake it up
To a shaker with ice, add in liquid ingredients. Shake, shake, shake, you know the drink is mixed well enough when the side are nice and frosted. - Strain mixture
In a highball glasses, add in a handful of ice and strain mixture into the glass. - Serve
Before serving, top the cocktail off with a little more champagne! Make sure the champagne is chilled for the ultimate bubbly topping.

How to Serve a Mexican 75
A true celebration isn't complete without the help of a colorful garnish. For this tequila Champagne cocktail, I like to add a lemon twist to add the cherry on top of the event.

Summer Garnishes for Champagne Tequila
What I love about this cocktail is that any fruit garnish brings it to the next level. Some of my favorite fruit garnishes for Champagne tequila cocktails are strawberries and raspberries, but other fun ideas to liven up this drink are lemon and orange peels and melon balls! The possibilities are endless; make it your own.
