One sip, and you'll be savoring every last drop of this delightful grapefruit Margarita made with real fruit juice!

Fresh Grapefruit Marg
If you are new here, hi, I'm Laura, and I am obsessed with all things fruity Margaritas, especially when I get the chance to savor the flavors using fresh juice.
I make a trip to the farmers market every weekend, and this time, I couldn't keep my eyes off the abundance of grapefruit. Once I got a taste, there was no going back. I picked a handful, came home, and knew I had to make a fresh grapefruit Margarita. This drink is so good that it combines the perfect balance of tangy and sweet that'll leave you coming back for more.
Grapefruit Margarita vs Paloma
The difference between this grapefruit Margarita and a classic Paloma cocktail is our bubbly friend, sparkling water. Palomas traditionally use this ingredient to add height to the drink, while this recipe omits it and uses happy hour staples to deliver the same delicious flavor.
Ingredients
The best drinks use high-quality and fresh ingredients, just like this grapefruit Margarita! Before you make any swaps to the recipe, see why each ingredient is needed:
- Tequila: use your favorite brand of Blanco or Silver.
- Cointreau or triple sec: these orange liquors will balance this cocktail.
- Lime juice: freshly squeezed is the best!
- Grapefruit juice: It's worth squeezing for this recipe; store-bought will also do.
- Simple syrup: adds a bit of sweetness to the mix.
- Garnishes: salt (optional) for rimming, lime and grapefruit slices.
How to Make a Grapefruit Margarita
Grab your shaker, and let's get sipping! Here is how to make this refreshing grapefruit Margarita; some additional tips in each step to ensure the best sip:
- Prep the glass
If you enjoy a salted rim, you'll want to start by prepping your glass first so you can enjoy your drink right after making it. - Make the cocktail
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine all required ingredients. You'll know it's ready to enjoy when the sides of the glass are fully frosted. - Serve & Garnish
Give your shaken mixture a good strain before pouring it into your prepared glass. Place a lime and grapefruit slice on top for the perfect finish. Happy sipping!

Garnishes
I recommend garnishing this Margarita with a lime and grapefruit slice for a pop of color and added flavor. Other fun toppings include a sugared rim, dehydrated orange slices, or your favorite fruits, sliced into wedges and skewered on a cocktail pick for a fancy finishing touch.
What to Serve with a Grapefruit Margarita
Having guests over? Serve this Margarita with my tequila lime pulled pork tacos or my Greek tacos for a flavorful bite, and top it all off with my cucumber salsa for the perfect finish.
