This mango Mezcalita is one of those drinks that will leave you coming back for more and more. One sip, and you'll be hooked!

Easy Mezcalita with Mango
Nothing compares to using fresh fruit in your happy hour cocktails...until you add a little smoky twist of Mezcal to bring your drink's flavors to the next level!
Believe it or not, I ran out of blanco tequila at my house this weekend! But no fear, tequila's friendly cousin Mezcal is here to save the day. With the mangoes I had in the fridge and my dire need for a sip of something boozy after a long day, I put my bartender skills to use and whipped up this Mezcalita with mango. Bold, smoky, and fruity, it's one of those cocktails that will leave you craving one more sip.
Ingredients
Everything you need to make this tropical mango Mezcalita will be listed in the recipe card below, but before you make any swaps, see why each ingredient is needed:
- Mango: fresh or frozen, if you're using frozen, be sure to thaw before blending.
- Water: this will help blend up the mangoes to make the base of this cocktail.
- Mezcal: use your favorite brand, this will add a delicious smoky flavor to the mix!
- Lime juice: freshly squeezed is the best.
- Simple syrup: optional for added sweetness.
- Garnishes: salt (optional) for rimming.
What is Different about a Mezcalita
While a classic Margarita is made with tequila, a Mezcalita is made using Mezcal. Although these two liquors are derived from agave plants, Mezcal gets its signature smoky flavor from roasting the plants in underground pits to produce that bold and delicious flavor! How to Make a Mango Mezcalita
Grab your Mezcal, and let's get shakin'! Here is how to make the best mango Mezcalita with a few additional tips in each step to ensure the perfect sip:
- Prep the glass
If you enjoy a salted rim, you'll want to start by prepping the glass first so you can enjoy your drink right after making it! - Make the mango puree
To a blender, add in your chopped fresh or frozen mango and water. Blend on high until you get a nice and smooth puree. - Make the cocktail
You'll want to combine your mango puree and additional ingredients to a cocktail shaker, making sure to give everything a good shake. It's time to enjoy when the sides of the glass are frosted. - Serve & Garnish
Make sure to give your shaken mixture a good strain and top your drink off with fresh ice to keep things nice and chilled. Enjoy!
