Refreshing Sprite & Tequila

When it comes to tequila cocktails, I like to keep the ingredients minimal and the flavors bold. So, after a long day of work, an easy 2-ingredient cocktail recipe is just what I need!

For my soda lovers, just like my tequila and Coke cocktail and the incredible Dr. Pepper Margarita, I wanted to create a drink for all my Sprite lovers out there! This drink combines the perfect amount of lemon and lime flavors with a bit of a boozy kick, and it's so good that you'll forget there's alcohol in it!

What You Need

Although this tequila and Sprite cocktail only requires two ingredients, before you make any swaps, here's why they're both essential:

  • Tequila: use your favorite brand of Blanco or Silver.
  • Sprite: I like making this drink with Sprite Zero, but regular Sprite works just as well!
  • Garnishes: This drink is best served with lime wedges for additional flavor.

How to Make Tequila Sprite

Grab your Sprite, and let's get mixin'! Here is how to make this refreshing tequila cocktail with a few additional tips in each step to ensure the perfect drink:

  1. Make the cocktail
In a tall glass filled with ice, combine tequila and your choice of Sprite together. You'll want to give everything a good stir with a cocktail spoon to ensure everything is well mixed.
  2. Garnish & Serve
This drink isn't complete without the help of lime wedges! I like squeezing one wedge directly into the glass for added flavor and garnishing with an additional wedge for a pop of color. Enjoy!

What's the Ratio of Sprite to Tequila

The ratio of Sprite to tequila is 4 to 1. This means if you make one drink, you need 2 ounces of tequila and 8 ounces of Sprite (plus ice). As always, feel free to adjust the quantities of each ingredient depending on how strongly you enjoy your drinks.

Garnishes and Serving Tips

This fizzy cocktail is best served in a highball glass, with lots of ice to keep things nice and chilled. I enjoy serving this drink with lime wedges, but if you want to elevate the look of this cocktail, you can skewer lime wedges on a cocktail pick for a fancier look!

What to Serve with a Tequila Sprite

Hosting guests? Serve this refreshing cocktail with my shrimp fajitas or these tequila lime pulled pork tacos, and top everything off with my delicious homemade salsa for the perfect bite!
