If you love citrusy and spiced cocktails, you're going to love this pitcher-sized Fall Sangria Margarita for all of your gatherings!

What is a Fall Sangria Margarita?
A fall sangria Margarita takes the basic ingredients from a Classic Margarita recipe, and combines them with the Sangria base of sweet wine. Then, it adds classic flavors of the season like apples and warm spices.
This cocktail is a staple in my yearly Friendsgiving celebration because it's a Pitcher-sized recipe that's always a hit, and this way, my friends don't have to choose between a glass of wine or a fall-themed drink with tequila.
Ingredients
This Fall Sangria Margarita is made with wine, Blanco or Silver tequila, Grand Marnier (you can swap it for Cointreau or Triple Sec), apple cider (or apple juice), lime juice, maple or simple syrup, and cinnamon. I also like to use cinnamon sugar for the rim, and cinnamon sticks and apple slices for garnishing.
What Wine Is Best For This Sangria Margarita?
This recipe uses a fruity white wine, but red wine can be used instead. The best white wines for this sangria margarita are sweet white wines, such as Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, or Grenache Blanc.
How to Make Fall Sangria Margarita
Here are the steps and tips to ensure the best Fall Sangria Margarita:
- Rim some or all of the glasses with the cinnamon sugar ahead of time, and then that's one less thing for you to do!
- Combine everything in the pitcher and refrigerate for a few hours. If the wine is chilled, skip this step and serve immediately.
- Stir before serving the cocktail into the prepared glasses filled with fresh ice and garnishes.
Rimming the glass with cinnamon sugar is similar to when you rim the glass of any margarita recipe except that instead of salt, you'll dip the glass in a cinnamon sugar mixture on a plate after you've wet the rim with some lime. It's easy and adds a touch of sweetness you're going to love.
How to Serve a Fall Sangria Margarita
When I'm hosting at home, I like to dress up this Fall margarita with apple slices, cinnamon sticks, and dried fruits to make the combinations of flavors pop. If you're entertaining, consider making a batch of these pumpkin brownies that are always a hit!
