No need to take a trip to Epcot when you can make the famous avocado margarita at home with this simple recipe!

This avocado margarita is tangy and sweet, with the richness your taste buds crave.

Epcot Copycat Avocado Margarita

The thing that gets me through a Disney trip with my family is knowing that we'll hit up Epcot at some point. The food is out of this world (pun intended), and the Avocado Margarita from La Cava is always on my list.

When avocados are plentiful at the grocery -hello, 3/$1 sale- I switch up my classic frozen margarita for this ultra delicious avocado margarita. It's tangy and has a hint of sweetness from the avocado with a little creamier texture without being blended.

Ingredients

The ingredients needed for this avocado margarita will be listed in the recipe card below, but before we get blending, see why each ingredient is essential:

  • Avocado: for delicious flavor and easy blending, use one medium ripe avocado.
  • Tequila: use your favorite brand of Blanco or Silver.
  • Cointreau: or triple sec this will add a pop of citrus to the mix!
  • Simple syrup: for a bit of sweetness in this drink.
  • Lime juice: freshly squeezed is the best.
  • Garnishes: salt for rimming and lime slices.

How to Make an Avocado Margarita

Let's get blending! Here is how to make the best Epcot copycat avocado margarita, with a few additional tips in each step to ensure the perfect result:

  1. Prep your glasses
If salted rims are your happy hour jam, you'll want to start by prepping each glass first so you can enjoy your drink right after blending it up.
  2. Blend It Up
In a blender, combine all required ingredients together. For easy blending, be sure to add ice on top, mix on high until smooth.
  3. Serve & Garnish
To your prepared glasses, pour your blended mixture evenly into each glass. Top with lime slices for added flavor. Enjoy!

Does it Taste Like the One at Epcot?

It's rumored that Epcot's avocado margarita includes melon liquor and hibiscus salt, two ingredients that most of us don't have at home. This version keeps it simpler and still hits the spot. If you have these ingredients, check out the recipe notes on when and how much to add.

Can You Make It on the Rocks?

Sure! You'll need to blend the avocado and the liquid ingredients to create a smooth texture. Then place that in a shaker with a tablespoon or two of water to thin it out, add ice, and shake, shake, shake!

Garnish Your Margarita

I love topping off this avocado margarita with a classic lime slice for added flavor and a pop of color! Other fun garnish ideas include dehydrated orange slices to add a citrusy flavor to the mix, a sugared rim for added sweetness, and jalapeño slices for those who enjoy spicy!

Ingredients

  • 1 medium ripe avocado
  • 1 cup tequila
  • ½ cup Cointreau or triple Sec
  • ¼ cup simple syrup
  • 1 cup lime juice, 4-6 limes
  • 2 cups ice
  • Salt or hibiscus salt, for rimming
  • Lime, for garnish

Instructions

Prep:

  • If you enjoy a salted glass, prep the rim of your glass by rubbing a lime wedge along the rim. Dip into margarita salt and set aside.

Blend:

  • Place the avocado, tequila, Cointreau, simple syrup, and lime juice in a blender. Add the ice on top and blend until smooth.

Serve:

  • Pour the frozen avocado margarita into the prepared glasses. Garnish with lime, and enjoy.

Notes

To make it authentic like at La Cava, you'll need melon liquor and hibiscus salt. If you have melon liquor: reduce the Cointreau to ¼ cup and add ¼ cup melon liquor. Rim the glass with hibiscus salt.
