A unique twist on a classic, this ginger Margarita is bright and provides a delightful kick to your happy hour!

Ginger Lime Margarita
Every so often, I crave a punch of flavor in my margarita recipes. Whether it's sweet or spicy, with the addition of a few simple ingredients, you can transform an already amazing recipe into a new favorite! I've even started making some savory margaritas like this epic pickle margarita.
That's why this weekend, at a sushi restaurant with some girlfriends, you know I had to try the happy hour special, a ginger Margarita! It was bright, citrusy, and so refreshing I had to recreate it at home and share this masterpiece with you all! Trust me, this is a combination that you'll quickly become obsessed with!
Ingredients
Everything you need to make this delicious ginger Margarita can be found in the recipe card below, but before you make any swaps, here is why each ingredient is needed:
- Tequila: use your favorite brand of Blanco or Silver.
- Lime juice: freshly squeezed is always the best!
- Ginger simple syrup: make your own with the recipe below or use store-bought. regular simple syrup also works for this recipe!
- Ginger beer: adds a lovely spicy kick to this cocktail.
- Garnishes: salt (optional) for rimming, lime wedge, and mint sprigs.
How to Make a Ginger Margarita
Grab your shaker, and let's get shaking! Here is how to make a ginger Margarita with some additional tips in each step to ensure the best sip:
- Make the simple syrup
If you're using homemade simple or ginger syrup, you'll want to allow it to cool completely before making the cocktail. - Prep the glass
If salted rims are your jam, start by prepping your glass first so you can enjoy your Margarita right after shaking it up. - Make the cocktail
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine the required ingredients, making sure to leave out the ginger beer until the very end. Give everything a vigorous shake until the sides of the glass are nice and frosted. - Serve & Garnish
You'll want to give your shaken mixture a good strain before pouring it into your prepared glass with fresh ice. Top with ginger beer and garnish with a lime wedge and mint sprig. Enjoy!

Salt the Rim
This ginger Margarita is best enjoyed with a salted rim. To get the perfect salted rim, you'll want to sprinkle tequila salt onto a dish, wet the rim of your glass with water or a lime wedge, and swirl it into the salt, making sure the sides are evenly coated. So simple and provides added flavor to every sip!
How to Serve this Margarita
For the ultimate sipping experience, this Margarita is best served in a lowball glass with a salted rim and topped off with fresh ice, a garnish of lime wedge, and a sprig of mint for added flavor. I also recommend squeezing the lime wedge into your drink for the ultimate sip!
What to Serve with Ginger Margaritas
