Ingredients

1 ½ ounces tequila
4 ounces orange juice
¼ ounce grenadine
2 ounces water, optional
Orange slices, for garnish

Instructions

Make the cocktail:

Fill a large glass with ice. Add tequila and orange juice, and give it a stir. If you'll use water to make this drink taller, add it now, too.
Slowly pour in grenadine, which will sink to the bottom, creating a layered effect.
To make this cocktail longer, top off the drink with sparkling water.

Garnish:

Garnish with orange slices for a refreshing finishing touch. Enjoy!

Make this cocktail longer: To make this cocktail last longer, mix the tequila and orange juice with water. However, avoid adding water after pouring in the grenadine, as it will ruin the sunrise layers in this cocktail.
