Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add tequila, Cointreau, blue curacao, and lime juice. Shake until the sides are fully frosted. The more you shake, the colder, the better the marg.
Serve:
Fill a glass with fresh ice and strain the mixture over the ice.
Garnish with a pineapple wedge and maraschino cherries.
Notes
This margarita is on the strong side. You can add a splash of pineapple juice or omit the Cointreau or triple sec, keeping the total cocktail volume to 1 ½ ounces.
Make a pitcher (serves 8) with 1 cup fresh lime juice (about 8 limes), 1 cup tequila, ¼ cup Cointreau or triple sec, ¼ cup Blue Curacao. Add a handful of ice cubes, and use a long spoon to mix all the ingredients. Refrigerate for 1 hour. Pour the chilled margaritas over ice.
